Background:
During the 2008-2009 school year the Board of Education reviewed the traffic plan for site ingress and egress developed and approved in 2002 to determine if that plan could be improved upon as construction was about to begin for the project. Based upon recommendations from a District goals committee in consultation with a traffic consultant Mr. Joe Faust), a six point plan was developed and approved as the final traffic plan for the site. That plan is summarized on this website.
Construction efforts were halted last year based upon the State budget crisis but recently the construction has been given the green light to move forward according to plan. Consequently, the District goal committee has reconvened and agreed to meet on a monthly basis to address issues of mutual concern between the State Park and School District.
Our website will post minutes of each meeting of the goals committee as well as other pertinent documents to keep the public informed at every step of the construction project.
